Memorial Day Poem #7, Nights Of November
Hold me close, hold me tight, I could lose this fight.
The night haunts in November, wish I never saw that sight.
Scenes flash through my mind, nights of November arent very kind.
Go far away, you dont know, what the devil can only sow.
I fear that November will win in the end, Ia Drang, all over again.
Leave me alone, devils brew, wish I never knew what he alone can do
Oh Dale, sleep on. It wont be forgiven, what they did to you.
Wish I could see you just once more.
I for one will never forget your smiling face and the terrible price
you paid.
Written from the heart by Ron Slough 11/5/2000
medic 1/5cav 1965
Dedicated to Dale Hudson and everyone that served in the Ia Drang Valley
