Yah, leave it the republitards, they'll drill it to the last drop.
Even if they do, it won't affect the price of gasoline much.
It won't affect the price of gas much TODAY.
It will have a huge impact on the price of gas in the FUTURE.
And it would take years before that gas ever get to market.
What's needed is to get out of dependence in just oil.
Diversify our energy. That will do it.
Since you oppose drilling because it won't affect the price of gas
TODAY I'm certain you can quickly and easily tell us how "Diversify
our energy" will affect the price of gas TODAY, right?
Sure, if we diversify, in the long run we will not need imported oil.
As for affecting the price Today, the only way it can be done is by
cracking down on speculators. They're the culprit of this price hike.
But this will bring whining from the right.
What gets me is: why aren't the oil companies not drilling on
the land they have now?
They are. But they have local legal opposition almost everywhere
holding them up.
Noooo, they're after that coast line.
Their interest is in getting the cheapest-to-get oil first.- Hide

Yep! Them oil speculators are all Republitards, that's why the
Republitard party isn't looking into it. It is the Democrats, such as
Maria Cantwell, who are checking things out. There should be laws
against speculators.
********
Beetle, Eater of Dung, every time your local food stamp store orders goods
at wholesale prices and marks up the amount to make a profit...that's
speculation. If you don't choose to use your allotment of stamps for an
item, the store owner loses money. That's speculation, too. God, are you
dumb.
Dionysus
Did you ever heard of government control? If the speculators are hurting |
the economy of the country, it is the government duty to do something about
it. I'm not expecting anything to be done, of course.
You're the dumb one. |

9Titties, explain why that is a bad thing if it means lower energy prices
for America. Don't hurry, we'll wait.
Dionysus
Oh, Dennis, you're one of those creeps that don't understand anything
unless it's repeated for you. Drilling for oil in our coast line is not
going to
do anything for the price of gas, it will take years before it would get
to
the market, and in the long run, it will not solve our energy problem.
The solution, dummy, is diversification. The time we spend to drill we
should have a crash program instead to get alternative fuels along with
oil.
We
should not concentrate on drilling for oil to get us out of this mess.
I know you only understand the oil corporations side of it. They have been
after the coast line for years, the majority of the people have been
against
it.
Now with propaganda and the price of gasoline, they think they can
succeed.
Did I answer your question? It DOES NOT MEAN LOWER PRICES.

Ah, 9Titties, you are a treat, a wonderful respite from reality. Your
risible comments are emblematic of a lobotomized mindset locked in to one
unimaginative conclusion spelling doom for us all unless we put up windmills
in our backyards and begin saving our waste for biomass fuel (a compost box
instead of a fuel tank on cars?).
It is amusing to read as you singlehandedly overturn the law of supply and
demand. And, it is entertaining to assess your total lack of cognition when
it comes to the abilities of the American economy to do more than one thing
as a time.
You are unintentionally droll (what with your having no sense of humor more
nuanced than bathroom graffitti) when you embrace the notion that alternate
fuels are easily obtained, and it's only through the connivance and
conspiracies of the "OIL BIDNESS TYCOONS" that the wind don't blow and the
sun don't shine 24/7.
To read you is to laugh.
