Unbelievable !!!!! People killed during a war, did that ever
happen before?
In an unnecessary war.
Like the one that JFK & LBJ started that killed over 55,000? Is that the
war you're referring to, Sid0?
Actually Truman and Ike got the US involved there - but yes, that kind of
unnecessary war.
Wrong. The war building began under Ike.
Wrong - the beginning was the propping up of the French by the US and the
sending of advisors to Vietnam.
|
....And you don't think that was war-building?
| Quote: |
September 1950 - Truman sends the Military Assistance Advisory Group
(MAAG) Indochina to Vietnam to assist the French. The President claimed
they were not sent as combat troops, but to supervise the use of $10
million worth of US military equipment to support the French in their
effort to fight the Viet Minh forces.
|
So? We did that in many countries. We do it today too. Support is not
starting a war. The war started when Ike started using US forces to
support the French; including us bombers and ships, and allowed the
stopping of the 1956 unification elections called for by the Geneva
accords...

Following the outbreak of the Korean War, Truman announces
"acceleration in the furnishing of military assistance to the forces of
France and the Associated States in Indochina " and sends 123 non-combat
troops to help with supplies to fight against the communist Viet Minh.
1951 - Truman authorizes $150 million in French support.
|
So? By your reasoning anytime we provide support with money we are
starting a war. That is nonsense and you know it.

So? Support is not a war. We provide military support all over the globe.
The Vietnam war began when Ike sent ships and bombers to support the
French in 1954. And it really kicked off when Ike allowed the 1956
unification elections called for by the Geneva accords...

Sorry junior, but it was Ike. And no one else. Its all part of
history now, and your lies here will not change that.
Calling someone junior is just rude, not smart.
If someone is going to play stupid, they deserve to be called what
they are.
Then, after naming
yourself "truthteller" you lie. Then you call junior a liar. This is
not fooling anyone. Anyone who cares knows that what Ike started was
not the horror of the Vietnam war we fought. It is LBJ and a faked
attack by a Vietnamese boat that got us into the real shooting war.
And no junior, LBJ dod not fake an attack. He was lied to too.

Got evidence of that? A reliable source of some sort? A book? I don't
think LBJ was that stupid. If you have evidence, I'll read it.

Yup. It was in the news around December two years back. The original NSA
tapes were found and checked again. No second attack took place and the
NSA knew it, but did not correct what had been initially sent on the
Pentagon and Whitehouse.
The NSA lied or erred, and no one corrected it. It took a researcher
looking 26 years later to find the truth of that night and correct the
record.
Never trust a spook.

Give up your right wing lying here dumbass. There would have been no war
in Vietnam if Ike had allowed the elections of 1956 to be held. There is
nothing that Truman did that would have led to war. We have had military
missions in many nations, and none of them were or are considered as
starting a war.
Now stop the lying. You only prove what a right wing idiot you are with
your lies.

effort. At that point the US was involved - or are you ignorant enough to
question that? It's the definition of the word "involved". The idiots on
the right and the idiots on the left all meet up at the same place - the
bottom slime.

That's the timeline, Bozo. Live with it. It's the way the historians
write the history of Vietnam but you know better. Sure thing.
