At age 76, I am a life-long registered and voting Democrat.  We own a 2004
Toyota Corolla, which I keep in excellent condition, changing oil every 3000
miles or nearly that, using Valvoline Dura-Blend oil.
We get about 33mpg city and 38-40mpg highway, dependably.  The car drives
very nicely and is quite comfortable.

As far as I am concerned, this is a winning combination, made even more
effective by Senator Obama's election in November.

I see, you are a conservation kook.

Yep, not are very good customer down at the filling station, are you.
Why don't you get an SUV and fill up. It's the Republican way to promote
good jobs down at Exxon. High payin' jobs for hard workin' 'mericans.
Don't be a sissy, buy an SUV.

Why should I want an SUV?

Because you'll be macho, conservation is for sissies and liberals.

My car gets 40 mpg and has for years. I ride my bike when it makes
sense. I've used compact florescent lights for years, well before
they were popular. I recycle and compost and otherwise reduce my
waste footprint that even after about six months, the garbage I
have didn't even meet the minimum weight.

I have no interest in SUVs. I've always felt that the car frame
built as a station wagon is the most overall useful type of
vehicle. If I can have more than one, I would say that the small EV
(electric vehicle) plus something with range in gasoline or diesel
is sensible. I don't oppose having a pickup, but would only want to
use it when it made logical sense, which is why I advocate "right
size" vehicles.

Who get's to decide which vehicle is "right sized" for me?? Barack
Obama or Nancy Piglosi?

"Right size" driving is about increasing your options, not
decreasing them. The idea is to let you decide what makes sense for
you in a specific context, and to encourage you to look at how that
context can change. So you have two vehicles, one is an EV for in
town and the other is a gas powered whatever for longer trips. With
the price of gas going up, you might end up making different
choices, but to limit yourself to one car that must do everything
is how we ended up with one person in a huge SUV or pickup. It's
silly.

Many Republicans are worried they won't be able to fit their
abnormally large asses in a small car. But don't worry, you'll
always be able to buy whatever you want, there will still be
vans for the handicapped or large-assed.- Hide quoted text -

What does Dr.Gore drive? A tiny smart car? How about Pelosi?? She
still having her big lard covered  liberal ass driven around in a gas
guzzling limo? If not then they should shut their stinking pieholes
about what, why, when and where I drive. If you don't like it you can
bite my fat ass.

Speaking of shutting their stinking pieholes, You must be really hooped
up on FOX or Limbaught to think Obama or Pelosi are going to help you
pick out your next car. Why don't you let Hannity tell you what to drive?- Hide quoted text -

I doubt very seriously Hannity or Limbaugh could give a big red dog's
ass what, where, when I drive. They leave that up to you
handwringing,bedwetting,leftist fringe,gurly men types.
g,far

You must be one of those "brave" couch warriors who sent our troops
to Iraq to fight for Exxon Mobil, Shell, Total and BP:

"...BAGHDAD =3F Four Western oil companies are in the final stages of
negotiations this month on contracts that will return them to Iraq,
36 years after losing their oil concession to nationalization as Saddam
Hussein rose to power.

Exxon Mobil, Shell, Total and BP =3F the original partners in the Iraq
Petroleum Company =3F along with Chevron and a number of smaller oil
companies, are in talks with Iraq=3Fs Oil Ministry for no-bid contracts
to service Iraq=3Fs largest fields, according to ministry officials, oil
company officials and an American diplomat...."

Leave it to Republicans to buy the story that men on camels 6,000 miles
away were a danger to America.- Hide quoted text -

No,I'm too old to go to Iraq and fight but I did spend a year in the
jungles living like a rat drawing an extra $75 a month combat pay. And
you? Do you lib kook pacifists beleive there's ANYTHING worth going to
war for?? I know, you moonbats think you can talk your way out of any
conflict as long as you have the backing of the wonderfully successful
U.N.

I'm not a pacifist, but why go to war for greedy corporations? What
the fuck is wrong with you guys? This is not what America is supposed
to be all about.- Hide quoted text -

You're a fucking idiot. How many thousands did you pay to sit in a
college classroom and get your numbskull filled with so much hatred
for this country by some old broken down 60s throwback liberal? You
should ask for a refund.

I assume you can't defend your position, which is why you resort to

personal attacks. Just be man enough to admit it next time.
